Thanks for all the great music recs! "Archie drew a picture of our family recently which included Taylor." What a precious little monkey, I absolutely love this so much. Really appreciated your thoughts on One Day, how we just "go through it". I was left feeling unsettled and almost angry with that series, but I can see the beauty of it through your lens. Time wasn't wasted, it was just messy and imperfect (which so much of life is).

I haven’t seen “One Day” yet and am not sure why…I read (and loved) the book ages ago and also saw the movie, so it is on my list. I guess maybe I’m waiting until I’m in the right headspace because I know it’ll wreck me.

I did actually have a similar romance years ago (ie someone who kept resurfacing until we finally got together for a while.) It didn’t end well (no one died) but it’s a good story that I plan to write about someday, if/when I can find the words.

Thanks for these recs, I am looking forward to listening to all the music on my drive home today. I too watched One Day only because of the hype and I was home sick for a few days. It took me a few more minutes than you to get into, but wound up enjoying it by the end. 😭 I went to university in Scotland, so that held some of the initial appeal for me. And the slow burn of will they won't they? Even though I had seen the movie years ago and vaguely remembered the end.

This was so fun to read! I immediately saved the Kacey duet you shared and put the yoga class in my stack! I watched one day and was warned by several folks about the ending. I was not prepared for the sadness and anger and tears! Oh my! Have you read the Idea of You? If not, check it out. Steamy novel about older woman and a young guy in a boy band. The moving with Anne Hathaway is coming out in May. I can’t wait for your Taylor recap! I’m going to a listening party Friday!

"If I ever write a movie, this song will be in it as we first lay eyes on our protagonist. Mark my words." YES. I think about this all.the.time. I spend just as much time thinking about the film adaptation and accompanying soundtrack to my writing as I do actually writing haha.

Absolutely obsessed with and crushed by One Day. Watched the whole thing in two days, it was the exact cry I needed. I followed it up with a rewatch of Me Before You, another favorite, to really seal the deal on fated British love.

And oh my gosh, honored that you would link to my newsletter about Yin Yoga! Thank you so much. Glad we are both out here spreading the gospel.

I’m going to refer to my best recipes as textural, flavorful bops from now on 😂 I used to play Alabama Shakes on repeat too!!! Clearly we’re just long lost music besties from a previous lifetime. Also I got certified in power vinyasa first but never wanted to teach it. When I finally got trained in Yin I was much happier doing that and teaching it. My students loved it so much more than the rigorous flow in the evenings. My favorite poses for upper body are melting heart, thread the needle and sphinx. Thanks for sharing my yeehaw article!

Thank you for including me here! Also, for some reason I couldn't get into One Day despite really trying. Something just wasn't connecting for me, but I'm glad you liked it! Also, I love the idea of just having The Eras Tour on in the background helping you get shit done.
